Suicide Prevention Week

Every September, we come together for Suicide Prevention Week—a time to raise awareness, support those impacted by suicide, and advocate for stronger mental health resources. At the heart of this week is World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, a global reminder that suicide is preventable and that hope, connection, and support can save lives.

Why Suicide Prevention Matters

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death, yet it is often misunderstood. Behind every statistic is a person who felt overwhelmed by pain, hopelessness, or disconnection. Many who struggle with suicidal thoughts are also living with untreated or undertreated mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, trauma, or substance use.

This is why mental health and suicide prevention must go hand in hand. When people have access to the right support, they can find their way back to hope.

Breaking the Silence

One of the greatest barriers to suicide prevention is stigma. Too often, individuals suffer in silence, fearing judgment or misunderstanding. Suicide Prevention Week challenges us to break that silence, normalize conversations about mental health, and remind those around us that their lives matter.

A simple check-in—asking someone how they are really doing—can open the door to connection and possibly save a life.

How CTSHealth Supports Suicide Prevention

At CTSHealth, we believe that prevention starts with access, compassion, and care. We are committed to walking alongside individuals and families, providing the resources they need to feel supported and empowered. Our programs and services are designed to address mental health challenges early, reduce risk, and foster resilience.

Some of the ways we support prevention include:

  • Outpatient Therapy & Counseling – Safe, supportive spaces to talk through challenges and build coping skills.
  • Crisis Intervention Services – Immediate support for individuals experiencing acute mental health needs.
  • Community Programs & Education – Workshops and outreach that promote awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage early help-seeking.
  • Integrated Care Approach – Addressing both mental health and substance use together, recognizing how deeply connected they are.

By offering comprehensive, compassionate care, CTSHealth helps individuals not only manage their mental health but also find hope in their recovery journey.

A Message of Hope

On World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10), we join millions around the world in spreading the message that hope is possible, help is available, and healing is real.

If you or someone you love is struggling, know that you are not alone. Reaching out for help is an act of courage—and support is here. You can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or reach out directly to CTSHealth to connect with one of our caring professionals.

This Suicide Prevention Week, let’s commit to being present, breaking the stigma, and showing one another that every life has value. Together, we can build a community of connection, compassion, and hope.
